Steve Carell has signed on to star in a new sci-fi comedy from screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, the guy behind trippy dramedies including Adaptation, Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. In I.Q. 83, based on a 1978 novel, much of the population suffers from a disease that causes their I.Q.’s to plummet dramatically.
