After 142 days, the Writer’s Guild of America has reached a tentative agreement with Hollywood studios, which means a flood of television and movies projects are resuming various stages of production. Apparently the first order of business? A reboot of The Office.
Reports are circulating that The Office creator Greg Daniels is actively working on rebooting the series now the strike is ending. Over the last decade, the NBC hit sitcom has remained one of the most streamed shows, and fans have been asking for a reboot for a while. Now, it looks like their wishes may come true.
Details are being kept under wraps, as are returning characters. Over the last several years many actors, including Jenna Fischer (Pam), Angela Kinsey (Angela), Leslie David Baker (Stanley), Creed Bratton (Creed) and even John Krasinski (Jim), have expressed an interest in returning to Dunder Mifflin.
“The Office was absolutely everything to me,” Krasinski told Esquire. “I mean, it is my beginning and my end. I’m pretty sure at the end of my career I’ll still be known for Jim. That was my first experience with Hollywood. It was the first creative family I’ve ever had. In many ways, they will always be the most important people in that most important experience in my career. So yeah, if they did a reunion, I would absolutely love to do it.”
