Gah, the work/life balance. It’s out of control, man! These days, maintaining the boundary between your job and the rest of your life is more difficult than ever. It’d be great if you could just not think about the job when you’re at home, but that’s not really possible, for us. But it’s possible for Mark Scout. He and his co-workers have undergone a radical procedure that leaves them unable to think about work when they’re at home and vice versa. Total separation. What could go wrong?
Well, the answer to that question looks to be: a lot. But it’s a humdinger of a premise from director (checks notes) Ben Stiller? Yes, Stiller continues to push his directorial career in a surprisingly somber direction. And he does it with a little help from Adam Scott (Ben from Parks & Rec), Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower and Christopher Walken. The show was created Dan Erickson, an actor who landed a few small roles before turning to writing. This is his first project. Looking pretty good!
We’ll see how things come together when Severance lands on Apple TV Plus next year.
