Lifetime made an announcement today that is likely to set the slow ’90s revival into hyperdrive: an unauthorized tell-all film about the real Saved by the Bell goings-on. The movie is based on a memoir by Dustin Diamond (Screech) who alleged that some of his fellow cast members were involved in some sordid shenanigans behind the scenes (Child stars? Getting into trouble? What is the world coming to?) so Lifetime is rounding up a fresh-faced group of actors to portray just those shenanigans in a movie about what was going on off-camera during the Saved By the Bell years. Thus far, Dylan Everett has been cast as Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zach Morris, of course), Alyssa Lynch has been cast as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski, as you know) and Julian Works will play Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater, naturally.) The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story will air on September first. Are you so excited? Are you so excited? Or are you so … scared? …
