4-Year-Old Survivor Found in Car With Three Bodies

French police were at a loss to explain the grim fate of a family of vacationers to the French Alps who were found dead in their car. A vehicle containing the bodies of three people with fatal gunshot wounds is being searched for clues, as is the surrounding area, in which a cyclist, who may have been an unconnected witness, was found dead nearby. The crime appears to have no motive, although the family may have been Iraqi. Police were also hard-pressed to explain how an unharmed 4-year-old girl, the youngest of the family, survived and went undiscovered for eight hours after police began investigating the crime scene. The girl was hiding under her deceased mother’s legs and was too frightened to speak up as the police searched the outside of the car for answers.
