Jens Lekman live

More beautiful music from Sweden! Jens has this way of juxtaposing the sweetest melodies with the saddest lyrics, the result is sometimes confusing, but more often just funny. His ability to contrast is one reason I love his music. His songs are diverse enough to fit into any decade in rock n roll history (well, maybe not the 90s), but it definitely sounds the best as it is today, as indie-pop.

Backed by an army of Swedish girls in white dresses (no, it’s not the Danielson Famile), Jens treated a sold out Chicago crowd to a Friday night of dancing, smiles, and sincerely fun music. If he’s coming to your town, try to make it out if you like those three things.
