As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Murder Plot

The frontman of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying has been sentence to six years in prison after pleading guilty to soliciting an undercover police officer to kill his wife. Tim Lambesis tried to pay a hitman—who was actually a detective—to kill his wife of nearly a decade, who is also the mother of their three adopted children. A judge also provided Meggan Murphy and the children with 10 years of protection. Lambesis is facing a $2 million civil lawsuit file by Meggan. Several of Lambesis’ bandmates—who have since formed a new outfit called Wovenwar—attended the sentencing. According to Rolling Stone, dozens of people at the proceeding wore small felt hearts as a show of support to Meggan. Noisey says that during the sentencing, Lambesis directly addressed his estranged wife and her parents saying, “I do want to apologize, and I do feel a deep sense of remorse. In the midst of all the heartache, you still find the strength to pray for me, and I’m thankful for that” …
