Senior Obama administration officials have told The New York Times, that the mission to completely destroy ISIS—or The Islamic State—could take as long as three years. Officials say that the military is preparing for a three phased approach to destroying the brutal Islamic militant organization: 1) Use airstrikes (the U.S. conducted more than 140 in the past month; 2) Train and assist Kurdish, Sunni (pictured) and Iraqi military fighters 3) Takeout ISIS strongholds in Syria.
