Senate Drops Assault Weapons Ban

This week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced he was setting aside proposed legislation to ban assault weapons. Reid said that the ban was an “uphill battle”, and that he and other lawmakers would now instead look at separate pieces of legislation that they hope can help curb gun violence.
