An Australian billionaire is moving forward with plans to build an exact replica of the Titanic, unveiling blueprints for the ship at a press event this week in New York. But, just to prove he’s not brazenly tempting fate in an effort to profit off of one of history’s most well-known tragedies, he also announced that the Titanic II’s maiden voyage would be from England to New York—literally on the exact same route of the original boat’s ill-fated journey. The mining magnate seems confident that his investment will pay off; he claims to already have offers of up to $1 million for tickets on the voyage.
