Tori Kelly in “Really Serious” Condition After Being Hospitalized for Blood Clots

Singer-songwriter Tori Kelly is reportedly in a “really serious” condition after being hospitalized Sunday night, as doctors have discovered blood clots in her legs and lungs.

The medical team is currently investigating the possibility of clots near her heart, further raising concerns about the singer’s health.

The situation unfolded while Kelly was dining with friends in downtown Los Angeles, where she suddenly complained of an unusually rapid heartbeat. Kelly’s friends then decided to transport her to Cedars-Sinai in West Hollywood themselves, opting against calling for an ambulance that would have taken her to a downtown hospital.

Kelly, a two-time Grammy winner, has been relatively low-profile since her last album release in 2020. However, she has been making a strong comeback this year, debuting her latest single “Missin U” in March. Her EP Tori was set to be released this Friday, July 28.

Kelly first gained recognition as a contestant on American Idol in 2010. Her music and voice were also featured on Sing and its sequel Sing 2. In 2019, she won two Grammys for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song.
