Prison Seeks Family Restoration

The Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, once deemed the most violent prison in America and now lauded for its disciplinary turnaround and the spiritual awakening among its inmates, hosted the nation’s largest gathering of inmates and their children in order to promote reconciliation within families. The event reunited more than 500 children with their fathers for a day of activities. Event organizers say the event helps fathers seek forgiveness from their children and may break the cycle of familial crime.
