Marie Kondo Has ‘Kind of Given Up’ on Being Tidy

Marie Kondo has said she’s given up on keeping her own house perfectly tidy, and people everywhere are feeling vindicated.

Kondo, the Japanese cleaning consultant and author of the bestselling book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, is no stranger to sparking joy in people‘s homes. But now a mother of three, Kondo has said that she has realized what is important to her is enjoying time with her family.

Kondo recently shared that she had a reality check that her growing family and business has caused her to rethink her infamous KonMari method. “Tidying up means dealing with all the ‘things’ in your life,” Kondo writes in her new book. “So, what do you really want to put in order?”

Parents, in particular, could relate to this sentiment and took to Twitter to express their appreciation.
