A New Study Reveals the Secret to Finding Love on Dating Apps

Anyone looking for love knows how hard it can be to find it on the apps, but a new study has found the key to discovering love.

Dating profiles that contain metaphors and concrete personal information, rather than vague, generic statements spark more attention, according to a new study.

Dating apps like Hinge, Bumble and even Christian Mingle have made it easier for singles to meet one another, but research found that people are much pickier since the dating pool has become seemingly endless.

The countless options means it’s more important than ever to have a stand-out profile. So, while you may think that a picture of you in another fun top will catch someone’s eye, the study revealed that you should actually focus a bit more on your words. Profiles with more original text, whether it’s a small fact or funny joke, ranked much hire than profiles with only images or generic statements.

The study asked 1,234 dating app users to evaluate the originality of the text in several dating profiles and rate the profile owner’s personality and attractiveness. Those with more original profiles scored higher on intelligence, sense of humor, attractiveness and, of course, the likelihood of participants willing to date them.

If you feel like you’ve swiped away all your potential matches, maybe you just need a profile refresh. Love could just be one swipe away.
