Coachella is over, but Tobe Nwigwe’s set will stay on our minds for a long, long time.
The Houston rapper kicked off his performance with a massive — and we do mean massive — guest: Optimus Prime. The OG Transformer introduced “his friend” Nwigwe to the Coachella stage, who then launched into an energetic and mint green performance of “Fye Fye.”
Nwigwe will star in this summer’s Transformers: Rise of the Beast, which premieres June 9. Nwigwe’s role has been kept under wraps, but what we do know is that the film will take place during the 1990s and feature an epic battle between the Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, Predacons and Terrorcons.
And Optimus Prime wasn’t the only guest to appear alongside Nwigwe. Chamillionaire, who was featured with Nwigwe on “Been Broke,” joined the stage to surprise fans with a rendition of his 2005 hit “Ridin.”
