Red-hot indie filmmaking team Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (known collectively as Daniels) are back with what sure looks like another bizarre, awesome notch in their belt. Everything Everywhere All at Once stars Michelle Yeoh (so we’re already off to a good start) as a …what exactly? It’s very hard to determine from this, but it sure looks like Daniels’ is playing with the concept of a multiverse, and one woman’s ability to tap into the memories and abilities of her various selves strewn across different realities. Neat party trick!
If you caught Daniels’ last big A24 feature Swiss Army Man, you know these guys have a penchant for blending absurdity and affection, finding real emotion in the bizarre. Hopefully Everything Everywhere All at Once keeps this streak alive. We’ll know more when it debuts at SWSW in March.
