They’re bringing it back, again.
Jason Reitman, the son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman and director of movies including Juno and Up In the Air, has confirmed he has been working on a secret Ghostbusters sequel.
The best part? We already have a teaser.
The film will start full production in a few months and is set to release in the summer of 2020. That’s about all we know. No word yet on whether any of the original cast will return or what the story will be like. We only know it won’t respond to Paul Feig’s 2016 all-female reboot. Reitman told Entertainment Weekly the new movie will “follow the trajectory of the original film.”
Jason’s father Ivan will produce the movie.
He told EW: “It will be a passing of the torch both inside and out,” saying his son’s idea for the movie made him laugh and cry. Sounds like a positive endorsement to us. Fire up the Ecto-1.
