It is officially the mark of a new year. The Celebrity Apprentice has returned to primetime with new host Arnold Schwarzenegger and he is shaking things up, kind of.
The show that originally debuted as The Apprentice in 2004 was hosted by President-elect Donald Trump until he left in 2015 to run for office. The series instantly became a fixture in pop-culture when Trump coined his iconic catchphrase, “You’re fired.”
NBC has taken some time to rebrand and hire a new boss, and with a new boss comes a new catchphrase. So what does the former Terminator and governor of California have to say to those he’s letting go?
Last night, Arnold Schwarzenegger let his first apprentice go the only way we would expect him to: “You’re terminated. Now get to the chopper!”
The new-ish phrase will either make you cringe or leave you feeling nostalgic. Either way, the show is just gearing up for a full season and while there are no guarantees, there’s one thing we can always expect from Arnold: He will be back.
