Prepare to test the limits of your DVR: FXX is going to continuously air every episode of The Simpsons later this summer. The cable network recently paid three quarters of a billion dollars for rights to episodes of the series and has some big plans for the animated comedy show. In addition to becoming another network syndicating reruns of the cartoon, FXX is also working on a Simpsons video app, that will presumably allow users to access the entire catalogue. To celebrate their recent acquisition of the show, network executive Jon Landgraf has announced that this August, FXX will air “the longest continuous marathon in the history of television,” by showing all 522 episodes of The Simpsons back-to-back over the course of 12 days this August.
