There have been a few hoaxes from people pretending to be Will Smith, but the real Fresh Prince has finally typed up his actual tribute to James Avery, who sadly passed away last week. As you doubtless know, James Avery played “Uncle Phil,” Will Smith’s long-suffering but ultimately loving father figure in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It’s short, genuine and it’s about all that needs to be said.
Some of my greatest lessons in Acting, Living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery. Every young man needs an Uncle Phil. Rest in Peace
