Lauren Daigle, a two-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist, has made history by becoming the first female to chart the top Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart five times.
Her latest single, “Hold On to Me,” was released earlier this year, but after her performance on the season finale of NBC’s “The Voice,” the single jumped to the top spot.
Daigle now officially has the most No. 1 songs on the Hot Christian Songs chart of any female artist since the chart began in 2003. Her previous singles include “Trust in You,” “Back to God,” “The Christmas Song,” and “You Say,” which spent 129 weeks at the top of the chart beginning in July 2018 and is still at No. 3.
“Hold On To Me,” released earlier this year, was written as a love song to God. In a video released on Apple Music, Daigle described the song as a good reminder after 2020 to come together and “remember that being with each other, and being there for each other, and holding each other up in the worst times is what life is truly about.”
