NYC Subway Banned Dogs Unless They Fit in a Bag, So Residents Got Creative

There’s a few rules on the New York City subway you have to abide by: keep an eye out for pick pocketers, don’t stare too long at a stranger, and no animals on the train unless “enclosed in a container.”

The last one has been a difficult rule to navigate for a lot of pet owners, but NYC residents are nothing if not creative. Since the rule was implemented, subway riders have gone to great lengths to prove their pet belongs on the subway.
