Music service Spotify has released their annual lists of the year’s most streamed songs, and, to no surprise to anyone who turned on a radio in 2014, Pharell Williams’ “Happy” was the most stream song across the globe. “Rather Be,” from electronic outfit Clean Bandit, Calvin Harris’ “Summer”, Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” and “All of Me” from John Legend rounded out the international list’s top five. For the most part, the list of America’s most streamed songs doesn’t look too different, with one notable exception. Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”, which didn’t crack the global top 10, was the most stream song in the country. Also, you may notice that current pop music queen Taylor Swift is curiously absent from both lists.
