
Following the success of a recent documentary and book about the life of The Catcher in the Rye author J.D. Salinger, the Weinstein Company has said that they are now producing a feature-length biopic about the reclusive writer. The movie will focus on Salinger as a young man, during the years he fought in Word War II and help liberate prisoners in German concentration camps. As the documentary suggests, it was witnessing the atrocities of war and the violence of battle that would later shape the author’s outlook on life and lead to his self-imposed separation from society.
