It appears that Steph Curry is a moon landing conspiracy theorists.
Curry was recently a guest on the Winging It podcast, which is hosted by fellow NBA players Kent Bazemore and Vince Carter, when the subject of landing on the moon came up.
Curry, who appeared on the show alongside his teammate Andre Iguodala, asked the group, “We ever been to the moon?” to which they replied “Nope.” Curry responded, “They’re gonna come get us … I don’t think so, either.”
Conspiracy theories seem to be prevalent among NBA players. After Kyrie Irving suggested that the earth may actually be flat (he later walked the comments back), Curry’s teammate Draymond Green was asked about the idea and responded, “I don’t know. I haven’t done enough research, but it may be flat.”
In response to Curry’s comments, NASA made him an offer. In a statement to the New York Times, a spokesperson for the space agency said,
We’d love for Mr. Curry to tour the lunar lab at our Johnson Space Center in Houston, perhaps the next time the Warriors are in town to play the Rockets. We have hundreds of pounds of moon rocks stored there, and the Apollo mission control. During his visit, he can see firsthand what we did 50 years ago, as well as what we’re doing now to go back to the moon in the coming years, but this time to stay.
