The ‘Scrubs’ Cast Wants a Reboot and We’re All About It

Deep breaths everyone: A Scrubs revival might be on the way. Well, if the cast and crew has any say in it.

Over the weekend at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, the Scrubs cast had a lovely, heartwarming reunion. Zach Braff (John ‘JD’ Dorian), Donald Faison (Chris Turk), Sarah Chalke (Elliot Reid), John C. McGinley (Perry Cox), Judy Reyes (Carla Espinosa) and Neil Flynn (the Janitor) joined creator Bill Lawrence for a hilariously insightful panel.

They answered plenty of fan questions — like what would the gang be like in 2022 — but there was one question on everyone’s mind: will a Scrubs revival ever happen?

Thankfully, the panel actually answered that. According to Deadline, Lawrence told the audience, “We’re gonna do it because people still care about it and we enjoy spending time with each other.”

The key part of the puzzle is figuring out when the cast and crew will have the time to make it happen, Faison explained.

“Here’s the deal: I think we all want a reboot and want to work together again but it couldn’t be a full season. Maybe like a movie or something we could shoot in a few months,” Faison said. “With everything Bill is doing now, he’s never going to be free again. If he finds the time, we’ll do it.”

Lawrence is currently working on some super small Apple TV+ show called Ted Lasso, so he’s a bit tied up. But he definitely seems keen for a revival.

Thankfully, it seems like we actually will get to see our favorite team of doctors back on the screen.
