The final season of Parts Unknown, which will air in six parts on CNN this fall, is just around the corner, and the latest promotion for the show sees season guest W. Kamau Bell reflecting on his time with Unknown‘s late host Anthony Bourdain in Kenya.
It’s an emotional ad, more a reflection on Bourdain’s mission for the show than an actual advertisement of the show itself. Bell says:
[lborder]He wasn’t making TV for TV’s sake. This was his life work. If Tony was still alive, I would have him here to process it. The greater context of the show and the reality that he’s gone is like a punch in the gut. I feel a responsibility to learn the lessons I learned when I was with him to take into the work that I’m doing.
