Aretha Franklin died Thursday at the age of 76. The Queen of Soul was one of the best musicians and vocalists the world had ever known, and her legacy resounds through churches and stages and music halls across the globe. One of her most popular songs was “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”
Ariana Grande was a guest on last night’s episode of The Tonight Show, and she joined house band The Roots to cover the famous song and pay tribute to Franklin.
Grande had met Franklin before, and reports say she initially declined to sing a cover out of anxiety she’d be too emotional. It was Questlove, ultimately, who convinced Grande to join his band in the cover.
