InterVarsity: Universities Restricting ‘Religious Liberties’

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is preparing to submit statements to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights detailing incidents of what they claim are restrictions of religious liberties by several universities. The cases primarily revolve around the non-discrimination policies imposed on the campus group by college officials that prevent them from making Christian faith a prerequisite for leadership.

At several universities where InterVarsity is active, the student group has limited access to campus resources and facilities—privileges granted to other campus groups. Rollins College, one of the schools to be mentioned in the statement, said in their own statement, “The principles of the nondiscrimination policy, which are at the heart of the educational process, are inconsistent with allowing exceptions for student organizations” …
