The camerawoman working for Hungarian new station N1TV has issued an apology for violently kicking and tripping refugees attempting to break free from a police barrier. Petra Laszlo was fired after a video of the event spread across the Internet. Among those she tripped were a young girl and a man carrying a boy in his arms. She told a local newspaper she was “truly sorry,” explaining, “I am just a woman, a mother who is now unemployed, who made a bad decision in a panicked situation. It’s hard to make good decisions at a time when people are in a panic and many hundreds of people are rushing at you.” She said she wanted people to know that she is not, “a heartless, racist, children-kicking camerawoman.”
