Earlier this year, Marvel Studios announced that its next mega crossover movie event will be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which promises to tie the multiple disparate threads of the current MCU together into another, largely new group of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. But the movie will not only represent a union of ultra photogenic super people, but a triumph of higher education from a Christian perspective.
The Kang Dynasty will be written by Jeff Loveness, a Rick and Morty grad who just finished work on the script for the next Ant-Man and the Wasp movie. Dig a little deeper into the bio and you’ll find that Loveness is also a graduate of the Christian liberal arts college Pepperdine University.
And that’s not all! The movie will be directed by Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton. He also helmed Short Term 12, Just Mercy and is a grad of Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California.
Look, we’re the last people you need to convince about the dire state of Christian filmmaking in this country. God’s Not Dead 5: Rise Up was just announced for crying out loud. But if you know where to look, you can see people from Christian backgrounds doing really cool work in Hollywood. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will drop in 2025. Can’t wait.
