Watch the Trailer for the New Zach Braff-Directed Drama ‘A Good Person’

The first trailer for the Zach Braff’s A Good Person just dropped, giving us a glimpse at the unlikely friendship formed between Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman.

The heartfelt film follows the story of Daniel (Freeman) and Allison (Pugh) as they bond over a shared tragedy that affects them both in different ways. In the wake of the tragedy, Allison turns to her mother (Molly Shannon) for comfort, but unexpectedly finds her future fatherinlaw at an AA meeting.

The Garden State director shared with Entertainment Weekly that he was inspired to write and direct this drama after losing his father, his sister, and two friends, one of whom died of COVID-19, in quick succession.

“I was just overcome with not only experiencing grief myself, but experiencing how the people closest to the grief were able to stand back up after the tragedy, and so that’s what I really wanted to write about,” Braff said.

“Some of it is heartbreaking, but I also wanted to write about it with my own style, which is to find the humor in it all,” he continued. “I have a very funny family, and we always find a way to laugh our way through things, even the painful things.”

The film will release in late March.
