Maverick City Music worship leader Chandler Moore has some things he wants to get off his chest.
Stepping away from traditional worship music, Moore’s new song “Honest” speaks to the tensions and struggles he faces in life. Moore vulnerably opens up about his battle with fame, faith and anxiety.
“I wanted to do something special and invite y’all into my personal therapy session,” Moore wrote. “So from my heart to yours, ‘Can I be honest?’
Back in April, Moore shared with his Instagram followers that he was interested in making music that reaches a wider audience who are experiencing a variety of different issues in life.
“[I’m] on a mission to produce and create more music from that perspective,” Moore wrote. “Music that the world can sing along to, and while they’re singing it, God uses it to sneak into the heart of the listener to do what He wants. Music that I can sing about my love for my wife, the same love that glorifies God. I want music about life and love that has a perspective that is safe for my kids who love God to listen to.”
