Twitter users are riled up this week after learning that the plural form of Cheez-It is in fact not “Cheez-Its.”
Oklahoma plays Florida State on Thursday night in Orlando for the annual Cheez-It Bowl, and it’s stirring up a lot more than just some football-related chatter this year. A representative for the square-shaped snack left a bad taste in consumers’ mouths after saying that it’s grammatically incorrect to refer to them as “Cheez-Its.”
Carter Karels, a beat writer for Florida State, shared this earth–shattering news on Tuesday.
Of course, Twitter users had quite a few thoughts.
And to no one’s surprise, not a single person defended the term “Cheez-It crackers.”
Even the Empire State Building pledged their loyalty to Cheez-Its.
