Comedian (and RELEVANT Podcast guest) Nate Bargatze will host the Halloween edition of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 28. Joining him for his first-time hosting gig will be musical guest Foo Fighters, who will perform for the ninth time.
SNL kicked off its 49th season last Saturday with a pretty lackluster episode hosted by Pete Davidson and musical guest Ice Spice. Bad Bunny will pull double duty as host and musical guest this Saturday.
With the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike eliminating movie and TV actors from being able to host, SNL will be relying on touring comedians like Davidson and Bargatze, or musicians like Bad Bunny, for the foreseeable future — which means fans can expect a lot of new faces around 30 Rock.
Bargatze, currently performing stand-up on his “Be Funny” national tour, is known for his hilarious and family-friendly comedy. He also recently launched The Nateland Company, a family-friendly content company that promises to entertain audiences of all ages. The Nateland Company will feature comedic content on its YouTube channel, including stand-up comedy specials sketches, scripted content for film and television, podcasts, music and more.
In 2021, he spoke with RELEVANT about how he pokes fun at himself for comedy (rather than going after others) and by telling funny stories about serious things in a way that does justice to both the lightness and the gravity of the subject at hand. And knowing Bargatze, he’ll be sure to deliver an opening monologue you won’t want to miss.
