Stanley Hudson is officially retired, again.
The Office star Leslie David Baker is giving up plans to launch a spin-off series of his character. Baker announced on Instagram that he would be returning the money to donors and not move forward with the project.
In 2020, Baker launched a Kickstart campaign for an Office spin-off centered around everyone’s favorite grumpy paper salesman. The project raised $110,000, but was continually delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic and more recently the writers’ and actors’ strikes.
The announcement appears just days after Twitter (we’re never calling it X) user @StolenDans shared screenshots of Baker’s initial announcement three years prior.

Users then began speculating that the entire project was a total scam, and there was never any intention to create a spin-off.
It is 1000% on brand for Stanley to steal $300,000 and never be heard from again
