A Carpenter Thinks He Found Jesus’ Face in a Cupboard

What do Nessie, Bigfoot and Jesus have in common? Nothing, except for the fact people think they keeping seeing them.

The latest Jesus sighting happened when Mat Askham, a carpenter in England, was putting an oil-based finish on the inside of a cupboard he’d been working on when he says he spotted Jesus staring back at him in the wood.

Askham took a snap of the six-inch tall face and sent it to family and friends who were stunned by the likeness.

The image in the wood appeared to look like Jesus, with some thinking it resembled William Shakespeare and Bigfoot

“It’s creepy that my very Christian friend came to see me, we chatted for half an hour chewing the fat over the last 20 years, and then five minutes later I discovered the face of Jesus in a kitchen unit,” Askham told The Mirror. “These things don’t happen every day.”

“My partner Nicola messaged me on WhatsApp to ask, ‘Have you discovered Jesus?'” Asham continued. “It’s ludicrous really, but it’s incredibly funny. People can’t stop laughing at it.”

Mat uploaded his discovery to social media, where it went viral

But not everyone is convinced. Askham shared the image to social media and people cannot stop debating who the face actually looks like.

Some say it looks more like Shakespeare, others think it’s Chewbacca or maybe even Bigfoot. Or, if you’re like Askham, you think it looks more like “a cross between the son of God and a hound dog.”

One of Askham’s friends suggested he should shut his business down and start charging folks to visit the site. With all the attention it’s getting, that’s not the worst idea in the world.
