
According to new reports, Christian churches throughout the Central African Republic are helping to shelter Muslims, currently on the run from “pro-Christian” Anti-Balaka militias. The militias were originally formed following the government takeover by Muslim rebels who committed atrocities against Christian villages. But, after the rebel leader stepped down as president, it’s believed that many of the militias are engaging in revenge attacks against innocent Muslims. In one town, a group of more than 2,000 Muslims are being sheltered at a Roman Catholic parish, and in another, Catholic sisters are providing assistance to a group of at least 500.
