
An Astronomer at NASA’s Ames Research Centre in California has found a planet—about the size of earth—with a close enough proximity to a star that it may be able to support life. At the recent Search for Life Beyond the Solar System conference (which sounds like a blast), the astronomer said that while analyzing data from the Kepler space telescope, he identified the earth-like planet in a far off galaxy. His team is planning on releasing more specifics about the discovery and its location in a detailed report later this year.
