
The organization Answers in Genesis is behind a new Times Square billboard, that unsurprisingly, is not being received well by atheists and many Christians. The billboard simply reads, “To all of our atheist friends: Thank God You’re Wrong.” along with a link to AnswersInGenesis.org. (Because, this is aimed at “friends.”) The organization’s president, Ken Ham told CNN that he came up with the idea after he saw a billboard erected by atheists last Christmas that featured an image of Santa Claus and Jesus, reading “Keep the Merry, dump the myth.” Ham said, “We thought we should come up with something that would make a statement in the culture, a bold statement, and direct them to our website.” Clearly, both billboards have encouraged a thoughtful, nuanced discussion about deeply personal, emotionally charged issues.
