The coronavirus pandemic has radically changed the way people around the world are living their lives. This, of course, includes millions of Christians who are “attending” church virtually as health officials advise against large public gatherings.
But, preaching online doesn’t come without its risks. Just ask Reverend Stephen Beach of Budeaux Parish Church, a Church of England vicar. While leading a teaching online, Rev. Beach leaned into a little too closely to one of his many candles igniting his sweater.
Thankfully, Beach is a pretty smooth character and was able to quickly put out the fire, simply noting, “Oh dear, I’ve just caught fire.”
If only we could all attack life’s problems with this kind of poise. Also, don’t worry. The vicar was unharmed.
