Amazon Prime costs $10.99 per month, and with that, you have free shipping, a bunch of available-to-stream movies and TV shows, tons of books available to e-read, and a load of random discounts. It’s a strong deal, maybe too strong, if you ask Amazon. They’re about to raise the monthly price to $12.99 a month.
Students are seeing a price hike, too, from $5.50 a month to $6.50 a month. The only thing that is unchanged is the cost of a yearly subscription, which is still $100 a year. Amazon clearly wants to push people toward the yearly model, which is harder to cancel and easier to forget about.
