Remember in season four of The Office when Dwight Schrute creates a second life (and later, a second-second life) because he wants to experience the virtual thrills of being a paper salesman? Well now, you, too, can live out your dream of being Dwight, or Jim, Pam, Michael or nearly any other Office character.
East Side Games Group has created a new game for iOS and Android, The Office: Somehow We Manage. The game centers around collecting characters from the show and completing the most important task of all: selling paper. Manage Dunder Mifflin Scranton by getting new leads and gaining in-game rewards, all while keeping Michael in line and not letting him spend the surplus money on a new plasma TV.
It’s an idle game about a paper company so there isn’t much action. But you do get the opportunity to live out some storylines from the show. You can stand in line as Stanley on Pretzel Day, or collect bonus money at a party before Toby shows up. The game takes place in the early seasons of the show, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll have to watch out for Jan Levinson’s management and Kelly and Ryan’s tumultuous relationship.
The Office: Somehow We Manage is available now, but the developers have promised more content is coming. So, if you were a fan of Gabe or Robert California, you’ll probably see their familiar faces very soon.
