Hit TV series about the life of Jesus, The Chosen, is set to end with its seventh season. However, creator and director Dallas Jenkins says he is planning to produce other stories based on the Bible.
“We’ve got other Bible stories to tell,” Jenkins said on Saturday at the K-Love Fan Awards. “The demand seems to be so strong.”
Jenkins said fans are often asking him what other stories he plans to tell, and thanks to a permanent home for The Chosen in Midlothian, Texas, there are a lot of possibilities. The sound stage and set are located at the Salvation Army’s Camp Hoblitzelle, and Jenkins said they are the only ones like them in America.
“We needed something that we could have for our own,” Jenkins explained. “This allows us – and hopefully others in the future – to be able to use it to tell these kinds of stories.”
The Chosen has been a global success, with over 200 million views worldwide. Jenkins is currently filming season 4 of The Chosen, which is scheduled to premiere next year.
