The Gone Girl Cruise Is Clearly a Trap

Did you read Gillian Flynn’s bestselling Gone Girl and/or watch David Fincher’s adaptation and think “the only thing that would improve this story is if it was a cruise?” Well, good news, sociopath. Now you too can join your loved one on an isolated getaway on the high seas where lots of people disappear all the time so very few questions would be asked if someone were to disappear, since there are so many believable reasons someone would disappear that have nothing to do with foul play.

Flynn herself tweeted a link to purchase cruise tickets, which the website called a killer opportunity (ha ha! Just a figure of speech!) commemorating the book’s ten year anniversary. You and your spouse with whom you’ve settled into an existence of domesticated mundanity will join other such couples for a getaway full of delicious food, gorgeous views and endless alibis.

Flynn then added to her tweet thread that she would be “selecting both by raffle and by means and opportunity a special passenger to murder!” Haha! Another great joke, no doubt. Everyone will certainly enjoy any and all lighthearted quips about faking your own death and framing your spouse for the murder. Such jokes certainly won’t leave anyone up and night on the cruise, checking their six o’clock around every corner and wondering why, of all the vacations out there, they decided to opt for the Gone Girl cruise.
