More than 500 people have been killed and 3,000 injured in violence sparked yesterday after military security officials raided the protest camps of supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. Despite the ongoing violence, a representative of The Muslim Brotherhood—the party of Morsi—told CNN that the demonstrations will continue until “the legitimate rule” has been restored. Interim government officials claim that they were trying to peacefully disperse camps of Muslim Brotherhood supporters, but defended themselves when the demonstrators turned violent. According to sources on the scene however, many of the protestors who were killed by security forces were unarmed.
