A new study by Lifeway Research has made some interesting findings about how Americans think about sin.
The survey, which was conducted to be representative of “all Americans,” asked respondents if they consider themselves sinners. Just 67% said yes. Interesting, 15% said that they would prefer not to even answer the question; 10% said they don’t think sin even exists and 8% say they don’t think they are a sinner.
Just 28% of confessed sinners said that they are “depending on Jesus to overcome their sin.”
Another interesting finding was how Americans believe they can get to heaven. 52% said they believe that they can earn their way to a heavenly afterlife by committing good deeds.
