Angel Studios has announced their next project from Sound of Freedom director Alejandro Monteverde: Cabrini.
The film follows the story of Francesca Cabrini, an audacious Italian immigrant who rose to become one of the 19th century’s most celebrated entrepreneurs. Her willpower, courage, compassion and business skills helped her overcome both sexism and violent anti-Italian bigotry.
“Francesca Cabrini is one of the most inspiring and influential figures in modern history, and yet few know her story,” said Liz Ellis, chief operating officer at Angel Studios. “Faced with seemingly insurmountable life obstacles, Cabrini chose instead to focus on how she could change the status quo in her time, and her impact on the world is still felt today.”
The film stars Cristiana Dell’Anna (Gomorrah), John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun), David Morse (The Green Mile), Giancarol Giannini (Casino Royale), and Federico Castelluccio (The Sopranos).
The release comes quickly on the heels of Monteverde’s previous film, Sound of Freedom, which has generated over $180 million in domestic box office revenue.
Cabrini will release in theaters on March 8, 2024.
