Former megachurch pastor Earl Paulk died on Sunday at the age of 81. Paulk was the founder of the Cathedral at Chapel Hill, an Atlanta-area church that once numbered near 10,000. Paulk was plagued throughout his career by allegations of sexual misconduct, and had admitted to having adulterous relationships. His brother, Don Paulk, said he hoped Paulk would be remembered for the positive influence he had on people’s lives rather than the scandals surrounding him. “Preachers are just like anyone else,” he said. “They’re a man.”
