Looking to Get Scammed? FYRE Festival II Is Here For You

FYRE Festival is back and “better” than ever.

It’s been five years FYRE Festival left attendees stranded, investors empty-handed, and the founder, Billy McFarland, behind bars. But if you thought McFarland’s time served had tamed his spirit, think again. In a move that only he could pull off, McFarland is back with a “new” approach to the aspirational music festival concept.

After posting some cryptic tweets back in April, McFarland has now shared his big plans in a YouTube video: “Announcing FYRE Festival II.” Throughout the video, McFarland shares his journey over the last several years, saying, “It has been the absolute wildest journey to get here, and it really all started during the seven-month stint in solitary confinement.”

But by the end of the video, it’s clear that his isolation mostly taught him the art of crafting a meticulously detailed plan – a 50-page blueprint, to be exact – to breathe life into his beloved FYRE Fest idea, once again.

In true McFarland fashion, there’s only the vaguest of details available about FYRE Fest II. The location? Somewhere in the Caribbean. The date? Probably the end of 2024. And as for what the event entails? “Documentary and Film Screenings” — might we suggest an option from Hulu or Netflix? — as well as “Weekend Trips” and “FYRE fights,” whatever that means. At this point, it seems best to leave it up to your imagination.

The one thing that is for certain is the price, ranging between $499 and $7,999. Of course, there’s not much detail on the difference between price packages, but here’s hoping it at least includes the cost of soap and toilet paper this time around.
